The Application of AcouPly

What is AcouPly? How and where can you use it? And how is it different from AcouPlex?

A brief explanation.

AcouPly™ Advanced Damping

What is it?
AcouPly is our new, semi-flexible damping and isolation material. In simple terms, a ‘bendy’ form of AcouPlex. It is a silicone matrix, composite material that uses the same PEEK-based active ingredients as AcouPlex.

What does it do?
AcouPly combats microphony and eliminates the noise in audio systems created by vibration.

Where is it used?
It is optimised for application on cables, casework, loudspeakers and equipment where pliability is required. The first two products we have designed are AcouPly CLAMs (cable sleeves) and AcouPly Discs. There will be more to come.

CLAM is a retrofittable damping solution for audio cabling. The CLAM shell houses an AcouPly extrusion which fits around the cable like a sheath, in direct contact and absorbing cable vibration. CLAM is manufactured at various diameters and delivers remarkable, consistent performance upgrades across:

  • Loudspeaker cables
  • Analogue signal cables
  • Power cables
  • Digital interconnects

A CLAM applied to even basic cables in a good system produces remarkable results – often exceeding an upgrade to far more expensive cabling. The Silence of the CLAMS. 😀

AcouPly Discs are small, circular isolators, designed to fit under components and speakers. either in conjunction with AcouPlex, or as a standalone isolation product. These little gems absorb levels of noise and microphony that belies their diminutive size.

Results from AcouPly have been so extraordinary that we cannot make it fast enough, and are already working on new products and applications. We’ll keep you all posted on those here.
