“I have to re-evaluate my whole vinyl collection. I have had an original pressing [of Count Basie’s The Atomic Mr Basie, mono disc] which I always thought was a rather bland recording lacking in detail, frequency range and musical personality. So having upgraded my block and with my AcouPlex T/T mat in place, and the EQ curve adjusted for Columbia I lowered my stylus expecting my memory to be borne out. Out of my speakers came a big band at their peak with drive, performance, energy and musical perfection. So, all the vinyl I never play need to be revisited because there are musical gems just waiting to be rediscovered. Thank you!”
